Sadly, marriage has fallen on hard times today in the West. This is ironic because social scientific research documents that marriage is good for the married, for society, for children, for everybody. (To wit, the classic book, THE CASE FOR MARRIAGE by Waite and Gallagher, 2000.) One organization that has done much to strengthen marriage is Marriage Encounter. They are celebrating the 50th anniversary in Chicago in June of this years. Dick and Diane Baumbach, lay leaders in the Marriage Encounter movement for years, join Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to discuss Marriage Encounter and the importance of communication in marriage.
