Vocal Point-Dr. Kevin Portteus

Before the recent mid-term election, Hillsdale professor, Dr. Kevin Portteus, published a piece in the Hill on how Congress needs to shed its image as “our most dysfunctional institution.” In that article, he notes, “The dysfunctions of Congress observed by scholars and journalists are merely symptoms of a more profound disease in our government. Leaders from both parties are infected with the desire to abdicate their legislative power, and it has corrupted the whole institution. Until the disease is properly diagnosed and treated, legislative decline will only continue.” Dr. Kevin Portteus joins Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to discuss the need for Congress to reform itself. Note: the interview was likewise conducted prior to the recent election. www.hillsdale.edu
