What Great News to Be a Child of the Most High God

The Bible says that we are all God’s creatures. We are not all God’s children. However, everyone who wants to be can become a child of the Most High God. How? By repenting from your sins and trusting in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation. When a person believes on Jesus, he or she then becomes a child of God. What a privilege that is. In my Sunday school class, I’m going through (slowly) the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew chapters 5-7). Here comes the promise, tied to the point that if we ask, seek, and knock, God will answer—that God cares for us like a Father.

Here is the passage under consideration: “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:9-11).
