Vocal Point-Dr. Greg Seltz

Topic: Today’s Patriotic Divide.

America is celebrating its 250th birthday this year. 250 years ago, on July 4, 1776, 56 men in Philadelphia, representing 3 million back home adopted by voice-vote the final wording of the Declaration of Independence. The essence of that document, like the Christian-based documents that went before it, such as the Mayflower Compact or the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut, is self rule under God. But today there is a divide in patriotism. Many on the left do not appreciate the nation. The New York Post writes: “The poll found 64% of Republicans said they would display an American flag or flag bunting outside their home this July 4, compared with just 27% of Democrats.” Dr. Gregory P. Seltz, the speaker emeritus of the Lutheran Hour, serves as the executive director of the Lutheran Center for Religious Liberty in Washington, D. C. Dr. Greg Seltz and Jerry Newcombe discuss the direction of the nation. www.lcrlfreedom.org
