Vocal Point-Dr. Greg Seltz
Topic: Render Unto Caesar.
Jesus said famously that we are to render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and unto God the things that are God’s. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution says, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” But many of today’s secularists have turned the establishment clause, in the words of one Christian law professor, “into a search and destroy mission against any sneaky vestiges of religion left in the public square.” What does it mean to “render unto Caesar”? Dr. Gregory P. Seltz, the executive director of the Lutheran Center for Religious Liberty, fights for religious liberty in America out of his Washington, D.C.-based office. Dr. Gregory Seltz, the speaker emeritus on the Lutheran Hour, joins Jerry Newcombe to discuss Christian involvement (or the lack thereof) in the public arena. www.lcrlfreedom.org
