Topic: Churches and COVID-19

During the coronavirus pandemic, when churches cannot meet in normal ways, some churches have creatively used “drive-in church” means as a way to safely feed the flock. But in some communities, overzealous administrators have tried to shut even that down. That’s unconstitutional, says a major legal rights group fighting for religious freedom. They declared: “First Liberty Institute [April 23, 2020] sent a letter to Chemung, New York County Executive Christopher Moss urging him to withdraw a policy that targets churches offering drivein services during the COVID-19 pandemic. First Liberty represents three local churches: His Tabernacle, Journey Church, and Pine Creek Christian Center.” Keisha Russell, counsel for First Liberty, joins Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to discuss this issue. www.firstliberty.org
