In the colonial days, there was a common practice in the Anglican churches to have printed up in large words the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Ten Commandments. This panel on the walls even has a name for it—a reredos. Included in the Apostles’ Creed is the line about Jesus rising from the dead. The resurrection of Jesus from the dead is the cornerstone of historic Christianity. Dr. Mike Licona, professor at Houston Baptist University, has written books on the historical resurrection of Jesus. His latest book deals with the reliability of the Gospels.
