For the most part, the founder gave us limited government. But those functions for the government should at least do the job right. The Constitution says that its purposes include: to “insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare.” In the summer of 2023, in the state of Hawaii, the crisis in Maui was handled very poorly by virtually any criteria. There’s a new book called, Sound The Alarm: The Maui Disaster That Sparked A Global Awakening. This book is a sequel to the earlier work, Burn Back Better. Both books were written by three authors, Stephanie Pierucci, Shane Buell, and Traci Derwin. Stephanie Pierucci joins Jerry Newcombe to discuss the government’s failure in the Maui fiasco.
