Radio Station Founded by Dr. Kennedy—Reborn on the Internet By Jerry Newcombe
3/27/13
In the 1970s, the late Dr. D. James Kennedy began a radio station in Ft. Lauderdale. Through the Internet, that station was heard throughout the world. The station has now been reborn at www.gracenetradio.com.
The manager of the station is the same as when Dr. Kennedy was alive—Dolores King-St. George. She comments, “It is the hope of GraceNetRadio to provide access to Christ-centered worship through music, fellowship through personable and loving Christian program hosts, and the Word of God through talk and teach programs, as well as practical and spiritual support 24-hours a day, to the English-speaking world.”
She adds, “Our programming offers topical examination of all areas of life including spiritual, physical, mental health, medical, financial, political, legal, relationships, family counseling, business, education, sports and recreation, or arts and entertainment through a Christian worldview.”
In the mornings, there’s Mike at the Mic. In the afternoons there’s On Track with Carl Foster, who also hosts People Helping People and Good Sports Magazine, Mondays from noon to 2 PM. (All times are Eastern, US).
On Wednesdays, noon to 2 PM, there’s Direct Connect with Jill Duquette, who also brings in counselor, Dr. Norm Wise, for an hour.
On Thursdays, Dr. Jerry Newcombe hosts Vocal Point, with discussions on current and cultural events from a biblical perspective, including author interviews, noon to 1PM.
Dr. Kennedy’s motto was, “Excellence in all things, and all things to God’s glory.” GraceNetRadio tries to live up to that ideal.
