What is it like to be a woman living in an Islamic dominant culture? Dr. John Barber is a professor of Theology at Whitefield Theological Seminary in Lakeland, Florida. He has started two colleges in East Africa and travels to North African and the Middle East, researching the role of women in Islam. He has written a novel based on factual backdrop of life for women in a dominant Muslim culture. The novel is called, The Trees Have Goats. Barber observes, “Do you understand the sheer terror a woman feels when she’s attacked physically and verbally? Complete panic grips her heart and mind. She has no idea what more might happen to her.
